Thousands of years ago, there was no land, sun, moon, or stars, and the world was only a great sea of water, above which stretched the sky. The water was the kingdom of the god Maguayan, and the sky was ruled by the great god, Kaptan.
Kaptan had a son known as Lihangin (wind) and Maguayen had a daughter known as Lidagat (sea) both two Gods agreed to the marriage of their children, soon, both two had four children, a daughter and three sons were born to them, they named their daughter Lisuga and named both three sons Likalibutan, Libulan and Liadlaw.
Lisuga is made out of pure silver and was sweet and gentle
Likalibutan is made out of rock and was brave and strong
Liadlaw is made out of Gold and was always happy
Libulan was made out of copper and was timid and weak,
after their parents Lihangin and Lidagat died, their grandparents Kaptan and Maguayen took care of them from all evils, Likalibutan took his father control as the Wind God.
soon Likalibutan gain more power over the Wind and gain more powerful, Likalibutan is planning to take over his Grandfathers control of the sky, so he asked his brothers to join him in an attack on their grandfather sky kingdom, both two refused and Likalibutan became angry, Liadlaw agreed to join his brother because he don't want to offend him, soon both two agreed to join Likalibutan's plan.

The three brothers are ready to attack the gates, they rushed in, but cannot beat down guarded steel gates, Likalibutan let loose a very strong wind and break down the steel gates, the three brothers rushed in and were met by their angry Grandfather Kaptan, the three brothers are frightened by the angry look of their grandfather, so they turned and ran in terror, but Kaptan gets furious after the destruction of his Gates of his kingdom, sent three lightning bolts after the three brothers.
Libulan was the first to struck by lightning bolts and melted him into a ball, Liadlaw was the second to be struck by the lightning bolt and was melted same as his brother Libulan and Likalibutan was the last to be struck by lightning bolt his rock body broke into many pieces and fell into the his mothers kingdom the sea, the huge parts of his body stuck out above the sea level and become what is known as a land.
Lisuga didn't know what happen to her brothers so she started to look for them, so she went the sky kingdom of Kaptan to ask his grandfather, then Kaptan blinded by his anger struck Lisuga by his lightning bolt and her silver body broke into thousands of pieces.
Kaptan came down from the his kingdom and tore the sea apart calling his wife Maguayen to come, Kaptan accused Maguayen of ordering her grandchildren to attack the sky kingdom, Maguayen appeared and answered Kaptan accusation, Maguayen knew nothing about their Grandchildrens plot to take over the sky kingdom, as she had been sleeping deep in the sea kingdom,
after awhile, Maguayen succeeded in calming Kaptan, both two gods wept at the loss of their grandchildren, especially their only granddaughter Lisuga, but even with their powers, they could not restore the dead back to life, however, they gave to each body a beautiful light that will shine forever.
this is now known as the beginning of the formation of the world.
Liadlaw golden body became the sun
Libulan copper body became the moon,
Lisuga silver pieces turned into the stars of heaven.
Likalibutan rock pieces became the land, the two Gods gave no light to Likalibutan after his doings to his Grandfather, but resolved to make his body support a new race of people.
Kaptan gave Maguayen a seed, thus the beginning of the Human race, Maguayen planted it on one of the Islands, soon a bamboo tree grew up, born two human beings one Male and one is female, they name the male Sikalak and the female Sikabay, they were the parents of the human race now known as a the 'Katawo-an'
